Will it be strong enough for my dog?

For most dogs, ABSOLUTELY! Our customers have dogs ranging anywhere from 12 to 120 pounds and they love it. A lot of them are pleasantly surprised at how strong the adhesives are and how well it holds up to any added pressure.

However, please note that if your dog is a lot smaller than your cat or if you have a super aggressive dog, it may not work. If you're in doubt, make sure to check out our reviews for some experiences from real customers.

If you do have a large dog, please review the INSTALLATION GUIDE for alternative methods of installation. Using Method 3 is the strongest and will provide the greatest resistance to pressure.
Will it be strong enough to keep my baby/toddler out?

It depends on what stage you consider as a toddler. It is usually best to start using Door Buddy Door Strap early when your baby just starts crawling. Then, when they reach the toddler stage they will know that room is "off-limits" already. If you start using Door Buddy Door Strap when your little one is older than 2 years old then there is a chance that they will be able to push hard enough for the adhesives to come off.

However, please review the INSTALLATION GUIDE provided for alternative methods of installation. Using Method 3 is the strongest and will provide the greatest resistance to pressure.

Just remember that Door Buddy Door Strap is intended to be a deterrent only and is meant to make your and your cat's life easier. Like any baby-proofing product, it is NOT a substitute for proper adult supervision.
My dog is smaller than my cat, will it work for me?

Door Buddy Door Strap works best when your dog is slightly larger than your cat. We do have lots of customers who say it works great even though their cat is the same size as their dog. Cats can become pretty liquid and squeeze through tighter spots. We suggest judging it by head size or shoulder width.

If your dog is a lot smaller than your cat, Door Buddy Door Strap may not work.
Will Door Buddy Door Strap work on my door?

Most likely, yes! The beauty of Door Buddy Door Strap is that it can bend and move as you need it to. Our door strap works on bi-fold doors, barn doors, pocket doors, sliding doors, as well as double doors.
